Mapping zonal winds at Venus's cloud tops from ground-based Doppler velocimetry

► We measure the spatial profiles (lat-lon) of the zonal wind at Venus's cloud tops. ► These are the first such instantaneous measurements of latitudinal wind profiles. ► We detect spatial variability in the wind structure. ► Our method achieves a spatial resolution of 108 km/pixel at disk center. ► Results are consistent with previous measurements of winds based on cloud tracking.
