Lunar iron abundance determination using the 2-μm absorption band parameters

► The SIR-2 data is used for the first time to estimate lunar iron abundances. ► Our method is compared with two other algorithms based on 1-μm absorption band. ► Comparison of SIR-2, M3, and Clementine iron maps show similar trends.
