EHPAD, mon amour : repenser l'EHPAD comme un tiers lieu

Times are changing. So is gerontology, which is experimenting with new ways of taking care of our ageing populations, and of accompanying them, to help them to continue living with others. We consider that the growing vitality in this sector can lead us to reshape the model of the nursing home, too often seen as a miniature hospital and systematically perceived as an inevitable, logical sequel to maintenance in the home. By way of a significant, structural opening-up towards a city district, a village, or more generally towards a particular territory, the idea is to offer these elderly, vulnerable subjects a new belonging to the social sphere, rather than confining them to the sole healthcare response.
