Sclerosing fibroma formed in the chin in a patient with tuberous sclerosis complex: A ten-year followed-up case after the operation

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a dominantly inherited disorder which is characterized by hamartomas seen in the whole body. Angiofibromas of the face are often described, and there are various symptoms in various organs such as brain, lung, heart, kidney and bone. Oral manifestations include enamel hypoplasia, gingival fibromas and mandibular cysts.We have experienced a case of sclerosing fibroma of the chin removed surgically in a 2-year girl with tuberous sclerosis complex. Ten-year after the surgery we found a local recurrence of the tumor with emerging of other characteristic symptoms of the disease complex.
