The evaluation of PM10, PM2.5, and PM1 concentrations during the Middle Eastern Dust (MED) events in Ahvaz, Iran, from april through september 2010

► Mean PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 concentrations were 319.6, 69.5, and 37.02 μg/m3. ► A total of 72 dust days and 711 dust hours occurred over the entire study period. ► The longest dust storm occurred in July and lasted for five days. ► The most polluted dust storm occurred in June (max concentration of 5337.6 μg/m3). ► Western prevailing winds supported the role of Iraq in the dust storm occurrence.
