چکیده انگلیسی
The aim of our study was to explore the sexuality of 104 Tunisian teenagers. The average age was 15.9 years. A total of 87.5% of adolescents (n = 91) reported not having sex education at school and 74% (n = 77) have already used websites to learn about sexuality. Ninety-six (82.7%) of teenagers preferred to discuss sexuality between friends. Concerns about the sexual act itself were predominant in the population surveyed in 48% (n = 50) of cases. Masturbation was practiced by adolescents among 82.7% (n = 43) males and 67.3% (n = 35) girls, with an average age of onset of 15.02 years and 14.43 years respectively for males and girls. Heterosexual activity was reported in 46.2% (n = 24) of adolescents and 44.2% teenagers. The average age of first sexual intercourse was 16.15 years for males and 15.83 for females. No protection means has been used by the boys at the first sexual intercourse in 91.7% (n = 22) of cases and 6 girls (26.1%) had a first act under protection. Homosexual activity with or without penetration was found in 11.5% (n = 6) of boys and 15.4% (n = 8) of girls, with an average age at the first homosexual experience 15, 17 years for boys and 16 for girls. All participants claimed to know the means of protection and have already seen at least once in their lives. The need for sex education for young people is requested to prevent the harmful consequences of acculturation, but a change in more depth in mentalities and minds remains the main asset for carrying out this project.
