In present investigation the Cu2+ impurity has been doped in zinc thiourea chloride (ZTC) complex in order to explore the effect of metallic impurity on morphological, structural, luminescence and dielectric properties of ZTC crystal. The Cu2+ion doped ZTC crystal has been grown from aqueous solution at ambient temperature by slow solvent evaporation process. The morphology of grown Cu2+ ion doped ZTC bulk single crystal has been reported. The crystalline phase and structural parameters of grown crystal has been evaluated by means of powder X-ray diffraction analysis. The photoluminescence study has been employed to investigate the color centered photoluminescence behavior of pure and doped ZTC crystals. The temperature dependent dielectric measurements have been carried out to examine the impact of Cu2+ion doping on dielectric constant and dielectric loss of ZTC crystal. The possible device application of improved quality Cu2+ ion doped ZTC crystal has been discussed.
