A novel hybrid nanoparticle system was developed for the co-delivery of miRNA-221/222 inhibitor (miRi-221/222) and paclitaxel. miRi-221/222 were co-precipitated with calcium phosphate to form compact particles.These particles were coated with anionic lipid to form a hydrophobic complex and co-encapsulated with paclitaxel in PLGA-PEG nanoparticle via nanoprecipitation.This hybrid nanoparticle system was able to suppress the level of miR-221/222 expressions in the MDA-MB-231 triple negative breast cancer cell line.The synergistic effects of miRi-221/222 and paclitaxel were confirmed by the nanoparticle mediated co-delivery.186
