Dynamics of CCl bond fission in photodissociation of 2-furoyl chloride at 235Â nm

► Photodissociation of furoyl chloride at 235 nm is reported. ► REMPI detection of Cl(2P3/2,1/2) fragments, Cl(2P3/2) is predominant with 85% yield. ► The Cl fragments exhibit bimodal translational energy distributions. ► The recoil anisotropy parameters for the Cl fragments are nearly zero.
