Chemically exfoliated MoS2 (ce-MoS2) has been demonstrated as excellent electrode material for capacitive deionization (CDI) technology. The large layer-to-layer space, 1 T phase and the abundant negative charges on the surface of ce-MoS2 sheets contribute significantly to the ion intercalation/transportation and electrostatic attraction of ion.
