Extensive dynamic recrystallized grains at kink boundary of 14H LPSO phase in extruded Mg92Gd3Zn1Li4 alloy

14H LPSO phase seriously affected dynamic recrystallization (DRX) behavior of extruded Mg92Gd3Zn1Li4 alloy. After hot extrusion, extensive DRXed grains took place at kink boundaries, while only a few of DRXed grains were formed at original grain boundaries. The formation of DRXed grains near kink boundary was beneficial for mechanical properties.
