Exergy analysis of integrated TEG and regenerative cooling system for power generation from the scramjet cooling heat

An integrated thermoelectric generator (TEG) and regenerative cooling system for power generation in scramjet has been proposed. Exergy analysis has been performed on the heat that drove the integrated TEG and regenerative cooling system. Wall temperature and heat flux have been calculated, and exergy at different sites of the system has been assessed. The results show that the output power and the exergy efficiency of the system with a fuel flow rate of 0.4 kg/s are 61.69 kW and 21.88%, respectively. The subcomponents with larger exergy destruction are cooling passage, turbine and TEG, whose exergy percentages are 26.11%, 14.70% and 10.78%, respectively. The pressure ratio of the turbine used for fuel vaporization has large effects on both exergy and exergy efficiencies.
