Kinésithérapie de l'infirmité motrice cérébrale : compétences, performance et perspectives dans la région Rabat-Salé-Kénitra nord-ouest du Maroc

A field survey was conducted among a sample of 86 practitioners working in the northwest of Morocco in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. The aim was to study and then to analyse the theoretical and practical knowledge of Moroccan physiotherapists practitioners in the management of cerebral palsy. The results highlighted a theoretical knowledge deficit on cerebral palsy and its management in a significant proportion of practitioners, particularly within multidisciplinary teams; it was pointed out that 74.4% of practitioners of our population found it difficult to establish a monitoring of neuromotor assessment; 72.1% of our sample were unaware of the methods and techniques used in the management of cerebral palsy, and 67.4% were not able to realise the level of motor evolution assessment. In addition, results for the training (initial, continuous and self-training) followed by practitioners showed a certain disinterest in the treatment of cerebral palsy and its care, both in theoretical and practical field. Based on the results obtained, recommendations to improve the treatment of cerebral palsy have been suggested.
