Intermedin reduces neointima formation by regulating vascular smooth muscle cell phenotype via cAMP/PKA pathway

IMD attenuated neointima formation both in the rat model of carotid-artery balloon injury and mouse model of common carotid-artery ligation injury. IMD protection may be mediated by maintaining a VSMC contractile phenotype via the cAMP/PKA pathway.
