Rock cutting characteristics on soft-to-hard rocks under different cutter inclinations

• Cutting and uniaxial compressive tests of soft-to-strong rocks were carried out.
• The intrinsic specific energy increases with increasing cutter inclination.
• The intrinsic specific energy was found to correlate well with UCS of rock.
