- The aim of this Comment is to better explain some previous data that López-Martínez et al. failed to interpret correctly.
- We consider the calpionellid association found by López-Martínez as the Early Berriasian Calpionella Zone.
- Our bio-, cyclo- and magnetostratigraphic data suggests an Early Berriasian age for the upper Substeueroceras koeneni Zone.
