Abstract
We recommend informing patients about possible risks and, in selective cases, a soft diet for up to 4 weeks after the operation. A cracking noise reported by the patient is the most important indication of a fracture. If, initially, the fracture is radiologically undetectable, we recommend the use of radiological controls.
