Abstract
Many authors have reported the radiological diagnosis of hepatic schistosomiasis japonicum. The major pathogenic processes in schistosomiasis japonica are egg embolism of the portal vein and result in portal hypertension. In addition, a carcinogenic effect with chronic infection of Schistosoma japonicum is recognized. We discuss a rare case of cholangiocarcinoma in conjunction with hepatic schistosomiasis japonicum, a rarely documented finding, and present the imaging findings.
