Abstract
Measurement of SVV or PPV allows assessment of fluid responsiveness in hypovolaemic patients under open-chest and open-pericardium conditions. Thus, measuring heart-lung interactions may improve haemodynamic management during surgical procedures requiring mid-line sternotomy.
