Abstract
- Forming and installing all-steel tubular buckling restrained brace (STBRB) is easy.
- Incorporating pods significantly improves the seismic performance of the STBRBs.
- Pods increase the buckling capacity of STBRBs from 40% to 150%.
- Braces with tubular pods have ~2.5-10 times more energy dissipation than without pods.
