Abstract
Twenty compounds, including three flavonoids (1-3), two coumarins (4 and 5), three stilbenoids (6-8), two diterpenoids (9 and 10), two phenolic acids (11 and 12), two phenolic glycosides (13 and 14), two lignanoids (15 and 16) and four triterpenoids (17-20), were firstly isolated by chromatographic methods from the stem barks of Acanthopanax leucorrhizus Harms. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and comparison with previously reported spectral data. Among them, compounds 6 and 7 are new, and compound 8 is reported for the first time from the genus Acanthopanax. This paper deals with the isolation, structural elucidation and chemotaxonomic significance of the metabolites from A. leucorrhizus.
