Abstract
A 14 years old castrated domestic long-haired cat was referred by his veterinarian for insulin-resistant diabetes mellitus. Clinical findings also showed poor hair coat, alopecia and seborrhea. After routine clinical pathology tests, endocrine function testing and diagnostic imaging, a pituitary-dependent hyperadrenocorticism was diagnosed. Treatment with trilostane was begun, and the cat quickly improved in general health, whereas insulin is still required for the management of his diabetes mellitus.
