Abstract
Because of the development of new drugs, the therapeutic management of type 2 diabetes is becoming complex. This French observational study, based on case vignette method has shown that the French National High Authority for Health (HAS)/French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ansm) 2013 guidelines appeared to have little influence on the general practitioners'choice of treatment. There are several parameters that determined the choice of therapeutic strategy and could explain the lack of compliance to the guidelines, such as HbA1c level, microvascular complications, and recent weight gain.
