Abstract
⺠Hydrolytic hydrogenation was performed over metal modified mesoporous materials. ⺠Pt-MCM-48 along with H-MCM-48 were tested. ⺠Industrially produced birch cellulose kraft pulp was used as substrate. ⺠Brønsted acidity was essential for formation of xylose and glucose.
