Abstract
► We assess the potential performances of the assimilation of remotely sensed LAI in WOFOST model. ► We define an OSS Experiment to assess the accuracy and availability needed on remotely sensed LAI. ► EnKf-based assimilation strategy is not suitable due to a phenological shift. ► Recalibration-based assimilation strategy improves the estimation of final grain yields. ► Objectives of errors reduction on yields estimation are not currently met.
