Abstract
⺠Combustion synthesis of hydrogen storage alloy of Mg17Al12 first. ⺠High purity of Mg17Al12 obtained at synthesis temperature of 733 K for 0.5 h. ⺠Alloying mechanism in the combustion synthesis of Mg17Al12 is proposed.
