Evolution of the droplet size distribution during a two-phase flow through a porous media: Population balance studies

► Population balance was used for analysis of droplet size distribution in coalescers. ► Coalescence and breakage of droplets were considered. ► Emulsion passing through different sequences of coalescer structures was considered. ► Effects of flow conditions and porous media structure on drops size can be predicted. ► The model can be useful for the designing of the coalescer structures.
