Abstract
Epoxidation of mixed fluorinated-hydrogenated alkenes by RuCl3-bipyridine-NaIO4 system. Role of the nitrogen ligand. The epoxidation of RMN3, mixt fluorinated-hydrogenated alkene of formula C8F17CH2CH=CH-iBu, leads to the corresponding epoxide in different yields up to 90%, depending on the nature of the nitrogen ligand. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of the bipyridine, substituted or not, with fluorocarbon or hydrocarbon chains as well as the position of these moieties onto the pyridine cycle.
