Abstract
⺠CV and spectroelectrochemistry of dithizone and PhHgHDz, 3, is presented. ⺠CV shows 3 has stable metal thioether (Hg-S-C), 1 oxidation and two reductions. ⺠3 is photochromic (t1/2, relaxation = 1300 s). ⺠Electrochemistry of ground and photo-activated 3 is identical. ⺠Spectroelectrochemistry of 3 highlights electrochromism.
