Abstract
⺠Acetonitrile + BMIM-PF6 was studied as a binary solvent system for CO2. ⺠Full range of binary mixtures (0-100% CH3CN) considered. ⺠Physical properties measured: density, viscosity, conductivity, CO2 solubility. ⺠Azobenzene used as a model to consider suitability as an electrochemical solvent. ⺠15-20% (v/v) CH3CN in BMIM-PF6 is optimum range for CO2 solubility and electrochemistry.
