Abstract
⺠Here we have examined the cyclability of the alkaline γ-MnO2 electrode. ⺠We have shown that the initial discharge capacity is dependent on the structure and properties of the γ-MnO2 material used. ⺠Upon electrochemical cycling the discharge behaviour of each different starting material reverts to a common discharge profile. ⺠Finally, the performance of these cathode was investigated as a function of cycle life.
