Abstract
The accurate transformation of voltammograms obtained from one dimensional simulations for various mechanisms at spherical electrodes into the corresponding voltammogram that would be obtained for the more complicated disk geometry is demonstrated. The procedure is based on the convolutive reshaping of the currents using a specific function that has been developed to convert the spherical geometry into a corresponding disk. Due to the requirement that the extended semiintegral should be equal for both geometries, four possible scenarios are examined to find the conditions that are optimal. In general, excellent results are obtained with the procedure but where significant differences have been observed, the effect is dependent on the radius factor and it is demonstrated that the best results are obtained when the disk and the hemisphere have equal areas.
