Abstract
► We use a pressurized heated grid reactor for the study of primary fragmentation of coal. ► We perform experiments on different coals up to 1900 K and 12 bar with heating rate of 5000 K/s. ► We measure the probability of fragmentation and the multiplication factors. ► Fragmentation increases with temperature. ► The effect of pressure is nonmonotonous.
