Abstract
► Both high-temperature and low-temperature coal tar are examined. ► Xylene and gasoline are tested as supercritical solvents for coal tar hydrocracking. ► A suitable ratio of solvent to coal tar results in higher light oil yield. ► Yields of light oil from the two coal tar hydrocracking vary in a similar manner.
