Abstract
► Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy for in situ petroleum characterization. ► Electrical properties of oil and water-in-oil emulsion were determined by EIS. ► The resistance increase with the increasing amount of water in the preparation. ► EIS result is consistent with the formation of rigid films on water-oil interfaces.
