Abstract
► We compare detailed kinetic models for methane ignition in diluted conditions. ► Results show the existence of a Negative Temperature Coefficient region at 1 atm. ► Reaction pathway analyses highlight the controlling steps of methane auto-ignition. ► Methane recombination route is mainly responsible of the NTC behavior. ► Kinetic mechanisms reliability in novel conditions should be verified.
