Abstract
⺠Effects of palm, coconut and soy biodiesel on engine outputs were investigated. ⺠Phase I examined how speed/load affects emissions and performance of biodiesel. ⺠Phase II appraised performance of biodiesel blends under a steady-state test cycle. ⺠Biodiesel with lower degree of unsaturation reduces UHC, NO and smoke opacity. ⺠Both NO-smoke reduction achieved with at least 1 vol.% PME or 50 vol.% CME in diesel.
