Abstract
► Application of the gold-thiol-Zr(IV) SAM as a new platform for DNA immobilization is reported. ► The method allows tethering of DNA to the surface in a form near to its natural structure, without modification of the DNA strands. ► Interaction of MB with immobilized DNA is investigated layer-by-layer using CV and SWV. ► The proposed method for the preparation of the new DNA template is rather simple and fast. ► The Au-MPA-Zr(IV)-ds-ct-DNA electrode shows good physical, chemical and electrochemical stabilities.
