Abstract
⺠The kinetics of extraction assisted by hydrostatic pressure pulses was investigated. ⺠Experiments were performed at different pressures in a extractor fed with mate leaves and water. ⺠The rate of extraction and the equilibrium concentration in the water were increased with pressure. ⺠The same responses were positively influenced by applying hydrostatic pressure pulses. ⺠A detailed model described mass transfer by diffusion and convection from the solid microchannels.
