Abstract
► Coating jujube with chitosan combining nano-silicon dioxide was investigated. ► Physiological indexes in relation to shelf life were improved. ► Related defense enzymes including SOD/POD/CAT exhibited higher activities. ► MDA increase of jujube coated with compound film was restrained. ► No difference was observed in terms of vitamin C and total polyphenol content.
