Abstract
⺠The wide line detector method was applied to validate pork marbling scores by modeling the NPPC pork marbling standards using stepwise regression procedure. ⺠Marbling scores were evaluated automatically by calculating the proportion of extracted line marblings detected by the wide line detector. ⺠There was high correlation between predicted and standard marbling scores (r > 0.99) indicating the robustness of the proposed methodology.
