Abstract
► The effect of particle surface moisture during fluid bed agglomeration was studied. ► Particle surface moisture content was predicted by population balance model. ► Growth kinetics were verified using glass beads and maltodextrin solution as binder. ► Correlation shown between simulated moisture content and experimental growth rate. ► Proposed model unable to predict the effect of varying binder concentrations.
