Abstract
► The formation of shellac and gelatin composite film could be formed by the H-bond. ► The composite film with 50% w/w of gelatin had the highest strength and elongation. ► The composite film could modify the coating efficiency of shellac over substrate. ► It made them for wider range of applications in food and pharmaceutical industries.
