Abstract
⺠The modification of soy protein isolate with different amounts of genipin and glycerol used as plasticizer was carried out. ⺠Total soluble matter, water vapor permeability and mechanical properties were improved by adding small amounts of Gen. ⺠Cross-linked degree, moisture content, superficial properties and swelling in water for each film were evaluated. ⺠The soil burial study revealed that the film biodegradation time can be controlled or modified from at least 14 to 33 days. ⺠The use of natural materials with improved properties provides an opportunity to replace conventional plastics.
