Abstract
⺠Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) improves thiosulphate leaching of gold. ⺠The carboxymethyl and hydroxyl groups of CMC compete with thiosulphate anions. ⺠CMC reduces leaching passivation and increases dispersion of leach slurry. ⺠Leaching is satisfactory at low reagent concentrations with the addition of CMC.
