Abstract
The results of the stability analysis of simply supported layered isosceles trapezoidal plate subjected to axial in-plane compression are presented. The layup configuration is confined to symmetric laminates. The solution has been obtained by means of the Galerkin orthogonalisation method combined with the proposed method of the coordinate system transformation. The results of the analytical solution are compared with the verifying FEM calculation. The computed results in the form of graphs of the buckling force as a function of material and geometrical parameters of the panel are included.
