Abstract
⺠A newly improved hybrid bonded FRP (IHB-FRP) technique is developed. ⺠FRP debonding can be effectively prevented for the IHB-FRP strengthened beam. ⺠The strengthened beam fails by FRP rupture even for seven plies of FRP strips. ⺠The ultimate load may increase by a factor of 11 compared with the RC beam. ⺠The ultimate deflection is larger than that of the EB-FRP strengthened beam.
