Abstract
Stainless steel strain hardens to a considerably greater extent than carbon steel resulting in significant changes in material behaviour during a cold-forming process. This paper presents a method for predicting the enhanced strength of the corner regions of cold-formed stainless steel sections. All available test results have been collected and used to devise generalised models to predict strength enhancements for different cold-forming processes.
