Abstract
► We design a new type of effective isolator with little weight and cost penalties. ► An active element suppresses the fundamental resonance frequency of the system. ► A prototype mount is designed, built and tested to validate the design concept. ► The passive system achieves 13.7 dB reduction in vibration transmissibility. ► With the added active element, 19.3 dB reduction is achieved.
