Abstract
⺠Exogenous corticosterone induced 60% of nest abandonment in Adélie penguins. ⺠Corticosterone alone is not sufficient to provoke nest abandonment. ⺠Low prolactin and increased proteolysis seem also to be required to trigger nest desertion.
